Create a Vision Board

Every ambitious woman deserves a vision board. A vision board helps you to identify, clarify, and concentrate on your goals. This is your road map for the year. Though, a vision board can be done anytime, it’s best to complete at the beginning of the year. Starting the year off with a clear plan will propel you toward achieving your goals. Be sure to place the vision board in a place you will be able to frequently view. This can be in your bedroom, bathroom, or even your kitchen. Your goal is to stay on target for the goals you set for yourself for the year.

Become Organized

As women, we have many roles. We are businesswomen, entrepreneurs, mothers, wives, aunts, and daughters. We have hobbies, desires, and obligations. Not to mention, we want to stay healthy and fit. So how do you do it all when you have a million things tugging at you- consistently- at once? If you’re like me, you have some improving to do. It gets done, but often times you miss appointments, overbook yourself, have a breakdown, and shut down before it’s done. The best thing to do is stay organized. Organize your life, from your sock drawer, to your desk. As a millennial, I love using apps to help me professionally and personally. My  top two apps are Evernote and Asana. They are both free and have been lifesavers to me in my life and workplace.

Empirelife Mag has a great article on apps. Be sure to take a read!

Revamp your Wardrobe

Every woman deserves to feel and look like the beautiful woman she is. As professional women, our attire is our first impression. Think of your wardrobe as your personal logo. Your attire should make you feel proud and confident. It should attract like-minded business people and potential clients. With a wardrobe revamp,  don’t be afraid to completely change your style. There’s no rules you have to look the same as you did last year. In fact, a new you can ignite a brand new wardrobe! You’ve heard the phrase, new year, new you! Well, now’s that time. Have you recently lost weight, what about gained weight? Don’t fret, pack up the old wardrobe, take it to the Salvation Army, and buy new clothes that fit and fit you well!

Need help revamping your wardrobe? Our favorite is the beloved fashion stylist Marv Neal! He will have you slaying ladies!

Have a Photo Shoot

Now that you have a new wardrobe, it’s time to show it off. What better way to brand and promote yourself than with a photo shoot? Use your new high resolution images to create marketing and promotional material for you and/or your company. Need help creating images? Use apps like Wordswag (less than $5) to create great images for your blog, Instagram, and Facebook. Not ready to do a full body shoot (summer body isn’t quite there yet)? At minimum, take head shots and if you are willing, medium range shots will do a girl right!

We highly recommend contacting VVD Photography for your photography needs!

Self-Care

What good is a vision board, new wardrobe, new photos if you are no good to carry out your new plans? Self-care is so important to maintain a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle. Make sure you make time to do something for you! And since we are keeping in the theme of organization, be sure to schedule yourself an appointment- with yourself. This way, you won’t overbook yourself and will set aside quality time to do what it is you’d like to do. Personally, I like spa days. Massages, facials, manicures and pedicures do me well! Self-care is about you, so do what it is that makes you happy. Remember, the goal is to avoid anything that steals your peace and makes you unhappy. A healthier you is a better you.

My two favorite self-care spots are Bee’s Beauty Bar and Spa and The Ten Nail Bar!

Fast & Prayer

As a believer in Christ, I know fasting a prayer begets results. Now, I am not telling you to fast and pray to misuse God. But I am saying, God is faithful and there’s power in fasting and praying. When you decide to forego those things that steal your attention from God you will see changes- positive changes. When you decide to pray over your goals and aspirations, you will see those positive changes blossom and your life will grow more abundantly. Fasting and praying will detox your spirit. This cleanse will help you to feel better, think better, see (your vision) better. Pray about everything, without ceasing and you will notice you will be in a better position to receive your blessings. God is in the blessing business and we know, if you are faithful and in tuned to His will, He will grant your heart’s desires.
